Born and raised in New York City, Elayne studied nursing at New York Community College, then worked as a surgical assistant to a Veterinarian prior to mananaging a medical office and assisting in surgical procedures for one of New York's leading Dermatologists. She transitioned to the entertainment industry, first as an Account Executive for the business managers of KISS, then as a Production Assistant on an MTV project.

Elayne moved to Santa in 1983 and has been in love with the extraordinary light, landscape and diversity of people ever since. She managed a well established retail store and then worked in art sales. A real estate professional since 1990, she has witnessed the constant and perennial demand for fine properties in this most unique place. An accomplished, dedicated professional (CRS, GRI) known for her integrity, Elayne brings thoroughness, attention to detail and diligence to every transaction. She has been successfully assisting Buyers and Sellers for over 18 years.

Elayne has traveled extensively, enjoys film, art, architecture, horseback riding and, above all, her animals. She is a former board member of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and is married to Dr. Richard Patton, a world traveled animal nutritionist.
