Christmas Eve Farolito Walk

One of Santa Fe's most important traditions for celebrating the Christmas and the coming New Year is the Canyon Road Farolito Walk. These lit farolitos light up not only Canyon Road but all of the surrounding neighborhoods join in and the crowds that walk this famous road on Christmas Eve. These small bags of sand, with lit candles brings, bring and the holiday spirit to everyone who participates. Spontaneously caroling can be heard up and down the street as walkers gather around luminarias, or small bonfires, and sing as they warm themselves from the cold night. The farolito walk has become a celebrated tradition of this special season and will continue to be for generations to come. The farlolitos and lit and the walk begis starting at dusk on Monday, Dec. 24! Come and join the holiday hoopla!
